Although all Dodge Ram trucks leave the factory with the headlights adjusted properly, people may find at some point that they have to adjust their headlights for any number of reasons. An accident may leave the headlights misaligned, and raising your truck's suspension may require the headlights to be pointed downward. Adjusting the headlights on a 2007 Dodge Ram is a simple process that only requires a Torx screwdriver. A Torx screwdriver, also known as a star screwdriver, has a six-point head shaped like a star.

[edit] Adjust the Headlights

  • Measure the distance from the ground to the center of the headlights and mark this position on a blank wall. Park your truck 25 feet away from the blank wall and turn on the headlights.
  • Open the hood of the truck and locate the rubber flaps on each headlight assembly. Lift the flap to reveal the adjustment screw. Rotating the screw clockwise raises the headlights. Rotating the screw counterclockwise lowers the headlights.
  • Adjust the screw until the center of the beams is approximately 2 inches above the spot marked on the wall.
  • Turn off the headlights and close the hood.

  • It is far easier to adjust your truck's headlights at night.
